Stainless Steel 201 is an austenitic alloy made up of chromium, nickel, and manganese. Typically, it contains about 16–18% chromium, 3.5–5.5% nickel, 5.5–7.5% manganese, along with small amounts of nitrogen and carbon. This unique blend provides excellent corrosion resistance, impressive strength, and good formability. The material boasts a tensile strength of around 520 MPa and a yield strength of about 275 MPa, with an elongation of 40% over 50 mm. Its hardness usually measures around 95 HRB. Stainless Steel 201 is perfect for applications that require strength and moderate corrosion resistance, all while being more budget-friendly than 304 stainless steel.
