Stainless steel channel 316Ti consists mainly of iron, containing 16–18% chromium, 10–14% nickel, 2–3% molybdenum, and titanium in quantities at least five times the carbon content to stabilize the structure. It provides a tensile strength of approximately 550 MPa and yield strength of approximately 240 MPa with favorable ductility and weldability. The titanium avoids carbide precipitation upon welding and during exposure to high temperatures, leading to improved resistance to intergranular corrosion. This renders 316Ti capable of long term exposure to high temperatures without the deterioration of mechanical or corrosion-resistant properties.
