C45 High Carbon Steel is composed of about 0.42–0.50% carbon and 0.50–0.80% manganese, along with trace elements of silicon, sulfur, and phosphorus. This blend results in high hardness and tensile strength after heat treatment. It boasts a tensile strength ranging from 570–700 MPa and a yield strength of around 330 MPa. The steel also shows good machinability and moderate weldability when preheated. Its hardness significantly increases through quenching and tempering, making it ideal for applications that require wear resistance, toughness, and durability under mechanical stress or impact.
