Stainless Steel 17-4 PH (UNS S17400) is a martensitic precipitation-hardening alloy that contains about 15–17.5% chromium, 3–5% nickel, 3–5% copper, along with trace amounts of niobium. This alloy boasts impressive mechanical properties, featuring a tensile strength of up to 1100 MPa and a yield strength of around 1000 MPa, depending on the heat treatment (typically H900–H1150). It also shows good corrosion resistance, high hardness, and moderate ductility. The 17-4 PH Channels retain their strength and stability at temperatures reaching 600°F (315°C), making them ideal for demanding structural applications.
