Stainless steel 305 channel is austenitic in nature, containing a major percentage of iron, 17–19% chromium, 10.5–13% nickel, and low carbon. Due to the high nickel level, corrosion resistance is improved and work hardening is decreased to enable easier formability. It possesses a tensile strength of about 515 MPa and yield strength of about 205 MPa with satisfactory elongation and ductility. Good atmospheric corrosion resistance along with moderate chemical exposure is guaranteed by its composition, making it suitable for forming-intensive applications.
