Copper Nickel Channels consist mainly of copper (approximately 90%) and nickel (10%), and sometimes additional small amounts of iron and manganese to increase strength and corrosion resistance. This composition provides them with very good resistance to corrosion by seawater, biofouling, and stress corrosion cracking. From a mechanical viewpoint, they have moderate tensile strength of about 350 MPa and good ductility, which makes them easy to work and weld.
