Its mechanical properties include a tensile strength ranging from 470 to 510 MPa, a yield strength of about 325 MPa, and an elongation of 10 to 20%, depending on the temper. While it doesn’t boast great corrosion resistance, it is often clad with pure aluminum for added protection. Although Aluminium 2024 isn’t the best choice for welding, it is frequently used in its heat-treated form to achieve outstanding strength and structural performance.
