Titanium grade 5 foils or Ti-6Al-4V is an alpha-beta titanium alloy comprised of about 90 percent titanium, 6 percent aluminum, and 4 percent vanadium. This alloy provides a great combination of low weight, corrosion resistance, and high strength. The foils possess an average tensile strength of approximately 950 megapascals, yield strength of approximately 880 megapascals, and elongation of about 14 percent. These characteristics make titanium grade 5 foils well suited for use where high strength and durability in thin and flexible form are required.
